The Roles Of Evangelism In Revival and Church Growth

According to the New Strong Expanded Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, GREEK word "Evangelism" means preacher of the gospel which make clear the distinctiveness of the function in the Church.¹ From the beginning of the world, in the garden of Eden God was the first person to do the work of an Evangelist and first Church grower.² He said "It is not good for Man to be alone", So God made a help meet suitable for him by causing a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he took one of his ribs, bone and closed up its place with flesh, Adam said this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh, she shall be called woman.³ Therefore, when God perfected man by making him a complete man, God was the first Evangelist and the first Church began with the family. God usually visit them to have fellowship with them before they eventually fell (Sin against God). And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and gave birth to Cain and his brother Abel. So Evangelism and Church growth proceed to the days of Noah, when God Instructed him to preach to them so that they might change from their bad ways but none of them listened. God destroyed the world then, and saved Noah and his family with various of animals. The Church continued to grow up to the time of tower of Babel.⁴ Genesis 11 vs 1 Says: "And the whole earth was of one language and of one speech, as the Journeyed from the east they found a plain in the Lord of shiner, they dwelt there, and they said to one another, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly to build a tower, whose top may reach unto hsaven. After their decision they were working towards the achievement of their plan, when God saw that they had a strong determination, He turned them against one and other through the scattering of their language.5 After the incident, God called out Abraham, He obeyed and moved to a land which God told (Promised) him and with the promise that, if he could believe, he will be made father of many Nations.
